Spideóig (24Dec10)
On Merrion Square. I was doing some photography at a Gymnastics club last week, and I was telling the younger children the story that Robbins were Santa's spies. I think some of them actually believed me! I definitely believed it when I was younger. (Spigeóig = Robbin in Irish)
It's SO fluffy! (23Dec10)
A lovely little bear in the bank while paying the rent. Here's a story you've probably heard before, but my Grandad used to tell it to us:
One day, while on their way to the fish market, a baby polar bear asks his mother "Mammy, are you sure I'm a polar bear?"
The mother looks up in thought, and replies "Well, I'm a polar bear, and your father's a polar bear. So I'd say yes, you're a polar bear."Not satisfied with this answer, the baby polar bear looks to his father and asks "Daddy, am I really a polar bear?"
The father pauses briefly, and responds "Well, your mam's parents were both polar bears, and both my parents were both polar bears. So yes, you're definitely a polar bear."
The father then looks at his son and says "Why do you ask?"
The son replies "Because I'm feckin freeezing!"

You can't catch me...
A Gingerbread house in the window of 19 Camden street. I am determined to make one some year, almost bought a stick-it-together one in Ikea, but I thought that would be cheating!
Snow place like Home!! (13Dec10)
The Mansion House (residence of Dublin's Lord Mayor) on Dawson street, wrapped up with a pretty bow for Christmas. On the bottom right there you can see the shed that houses the live crib.
When it was all nice and fluffy! (12Dec2010)
It is all but gone now, so here is a photo of my road at it's most snowiest. God knows when we will get snow like that again (I hope I'm not speaking too soon, we're never prepared!!)

A cracking story...
A pack of salt&vinegar Tayto crisps on the path in Glasthule village. In a little bit of research, I discovered that the founder of Tayto crisps - Joe "Spud" Murphy developed the technology to season crisps. The first flavours were cheese&onion and salt&vinegar. Before that crisps were just lightly salted. Mr.Tayto has always been their mascot, and last year he even released an autobiography! (This was taken from my archives, that's why there's no snow!!)
