Family beginnings
TLC (29Aug10)
Detail of the window of The Dolls Hospital on Georges street. This is where all our broken and sick dolls and teddy's have gone over the years for a bit of tlc. Like the time my younger sister decided to give my doll a 'haircut' when we were younger....Lulu had to be fitted with a wig the haircut was so short!!

A lazy quiet wasted plan
Another gem from our poet. This one was on a lamp post at the corner of Cuffe st and Wexford st.
This one reads;
in two those planes flew high
a summer heat, an august heat
a hotel pile on the third street
a march to burn a rotten man
a lazy quiet wasted plan
three more planes flew by
two more years to die
auriol's long slow goodbye

Leaving on a jet plane
Saw this jet on its way somewhere lovely and sunny I'd like to think, while shopping for satellite cable in Carrackmines.

Dragon Eggs!
OK, so to put this in context; We generally don't see melons this big in Ireland, so that's why I stopped to take a photo! These were outside a grocery shop on Camden street.

Clothes Monster
A model of a Velociraptor, I think, made of clothes hangers in the centre of Dundrum Shopping centre.

Smurf house
I don't know what this object is, but it looks like a house? On the side of a building on New Bride street.

Dealers
Detail of the window of Foley's chemist on Thomas street. I don't know if it's the same family as the Foley's on Parnell street, but they both make their own medicines and creams. I swear by their linseed cough tonic, tastes AWFUL but man does it work!

What did you do with all my candles.............?
A sign for the new location of the Wax Museum in Foster place off Dame street.
I'll have one if You are (14Aug10)
This gentleman sites outside Keogh's Cafe on Trinity street, years and years ago my uncle owned this place. Thankfully the new owner kept the awesomely tasty food, their raspberry scones are delicious.
The Doctor will see you now (13Aug10)
No.43 on Harrington street, I don't even know if these surgeries are operating anymore. The building looked quite unkept.
Lots of Dark corners.... (12Aug10)
The window of The Hideout on South William street. A hang out for teenagers for years now, it has a pool hall downstairs and slot machines galore.

Good intentions
This bike has been at this house (no.54 Richmond street) for at least 2 weeks now. You can't really see it in the image, but there was a mouldy sandwich on the seat of the bike!!

Guilty Pleasure
Sooo, after a bit of a bad day today courtesy of one very ignorant individual..........We decided we deserved a treat, and I won't be home for take-out Friday anyway! We headed off to our favourite Chipper, Apriles. Now, my favourite Fish&Chip shop in Dublin is actually Beshoff's (Apriles is a good substitute), and their best one is in Howth. Fish fresh off the boat, and they make the BEST fish-cakes.

Two more girls got burnt...
I think these are part of a series, because I blogged another one of these in June. That one was 1974. This one is 2004, taken on a lamppost on Richmond Street. I wonder if there's one for every decade? In case you can't read the image, this one reads:
that rotten year, poor old four.
a trigger debate, a quiet mistake.
a ganged array, a call made late.
a consumed, arranged carriage of fate.
a marriage miscarried, called off late.
twelve more months of dirt.
two more girls got burnt.
dead helen, dead horses, a century late.

Young Lizzy
The Queen on a doorway on Camden street, haven't seen one of these before. Will keep an eye out though. Generally I would post stuff like this on my StreetArt/Graffiti Blog, Curious Mermaid. But I liked this one so much I put it here!

Beefy! (02Aug10)
Buffalo tomatoes from the greenhouse for the birthday BBQ. It was my sister's 12th birthday, and we took advantage of the good weather.
It's cold out there! (01Aug10)
Sooooo.....us being MAD, we decided to go for a swim on Sunday morning. The water wasn't exactly what you would call warm, it being the Atlantic! But it did wake us hungover bunnies up.
Looloo! (31July10)
Out on the town in Galway on Saturday night, this poster was hung on the wall outside the ladies in Kelly's bar. This was the last weekend of the Galway Races, town was packed. They had closed off the central streets, there were so many people out. Mad craic!
Don't talk about the chef like that!! (30July10)
De Mad Hoor in Althlone, on the road down to Galway on Friday we stopped in Athlone for a bite to eat and walked past this lovely establishment! And no, we didn't eat there.
A wee bit late.
Soooo, I was at home in Connemeara, Co. Galway at the weekend. Am late with the posting. And as I was clearly not in Dublin, photos will be of Galway. :)
